Frank Düesberg – Your Rio Expert

I have lived and worked in Brazil for over 30 years. As a certified tour guide (Cadastur – Ministério do Turismo), I know Rio de Janeiro like few others: the famous landmarks as well as the hidden treasures of the city.

I speak fluent English, German, Portuguese and French – so you will always feel safe and well looked after. My tours are always private, individual and tailored to your interests.

In addition to guided tours, I also work as a conference interpreter (German–Portuguese) for international companies.

🌤️ Climate in Rio de Janeiro

Tropical climate with hot summers (December–March, 25–35 °C / 77–95 °F) and mild winters (June–September, 20–25 °C / 68–77 °F). Usually only short rain showers – light clothing and sun and insect protection are recommended.

📅 Best Time to Visit

Pleasant: March–June and September–November (mild weather, fewer tourists).
High Season: December–February – hot, busy, and home to the world-famous Carnival.

💧 Drinking Water

Tap water is technically safe but has a chlorine taste. In restaurants, ask for "Água da casa" – it's free, filtered, and tastes great!

The Tijuca Forest offers fantastic hikes with waterfalls and panoramic views right in the city. Perfect for families and nature lovers. Always bring plenty of water!
